Patrick Woosley is the youngest of three children, belonging to Ms. Rita Woosley and the late Mr. Bobby Woosley of Scottsboro. He is 38-years-old and has been a lifelong resident of this area. Patrick attended Brownwood and Page Elementary Schools, Scottsboro Junior High, and graduated from Scottsboro High School in May of 2000.
Patrick began taking courses at Northeast Alabama Community College in the Spring of 2001. After several years, he realized college was not the right fit for him. About this time his lifelong friend, GT Miller and GT’s family, had just purchased Scottsboro Meats and wanted Patrick to join their team. Despite catching some grief from family and friends about dropping out of college, he knew deep down that this was the right decision.
In October of 2003, Patrick slowly started to transition into, “Patrick from the Meat Market.” He went on to get married to Miss Katie Harries, also of Scottsboro, in May of 2005. They have three children together: Emma, 13, Harper, 9 and Payton, 6.
Over the years, life has taken him from “climbing the mountain” to being at “the bottom of the deepest valley.” With his strong faith, relentless work ethic, and support from everyone who loves him, Patrick is once again “climbing the mountain” as the owner of Patrick’s Meat Market.
Running a small business has been difficult but rewarding. Spending time with and serving the people of his hometown is Patrick’s favorite part of his job. He is looking forward to further serving the community if elected as a member of the school board.
“Coach John Esslinger has left a lasting impression on this whole community,” Patrick says. “He is leaving behind large shoes to fill, but I believe I’m the right person to fill those shoes.”
With three children of his own in the Scottsboro City School system, Patrick has a vested interest in its well-being.
“If I could leave you with two points to remember about this election, it would be the following,” Patrick says. “First, this election is about Scottsboro City Schools, not about Patrick or my opponent. This is about the children and staff at each school. From principals to custodians, I am in this for them, not myself. Second, to quote Proverbs 22:6, ‘Start children off on the way they should go and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.’”
