I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the Scottsboro City School Board, Place 1. With a passion and deep commitment for students, teachers, and our community, I am eager to bring over 20 years of experience in education to ensure that Scottsboro City Schools continues to excel. I am eager to bring fresh ideas, transparency, and dedicated advocacy to our schools.
I am the proud mother of three sons: Tyler, Arick, and Brennen along with three beautiful granddaughters. I have been married to my husband, Michael, for 33 years. My family are all proud products of the Scottsboro City School System and are forever Wildcats.
I hold multiple education degrees from Northeast State Community College, Athens State University, University of South Alabama, and Jacksonville State University. Having worked at all levels in education from substitute teacher, teacher, district administrator to my current role as an Educational Specialist with the Alabama Department of Education has prepared me to bring an educator's perspective to decision making processes. In my current role, I work tirelessly with school districts across the state to help identify needs and establish supports for all students and educators. I will use this same tenacity for excellence to work tirelessly as an advocate for all.
I firmly believe that all students deserve access to a high-quality education that meets their unique needs and prepares them for a successful future. Throughout my career, I have always answered the call when I see a need for our students and community such as the establishment of a Drama Club to support the arts and provide our students additional creative outlets.
I am excited to embark on this journey and would be honored to have your support. Together we can continue to ensure a bright future for our students and community!
