Hello! My name is John Moses and I’m seeking office for Mayor of Scottsboro. I have worked for the city of Scottsboro for 30 years in the building department. The last 10 as chief building inspector.
My interest in running for mayor is to try and keep our city moving forward by working on growth and inviting more business to come here. While seeing what we can do to encourage the business that we have here and promoting them. I’m not the guy to make a lot of promises that I can’t keep. I am the guy that can work with people. I know we have a good council and I know that we could work together.
I do have a few things on my mind that I would like to discuss with the city council and see if we could work towards. I would like to work with the council on a long range plan for our city. I would love to see us utilize our water and see what we could do to beautify it again. Working with our city engineer I know we qualify for a grant to help with clean up of old structures that are in bad shape. I think it’s a great program to help with making our city beautiful.
